All rental desks are positioned inside the terminal building, directly within the luggage retrieval area.

Lot A, where your vehicle will be parked, sits approximately 30 yards from the terminal exit.

A shuttle bus is not required — the entire process from baggage claim to driver's seat takes under 10 minutes.

Counter operations run daily from 8:00 AM through 11:00 PM, seven days a week.

Automated key drop is accessible around the clock — ideal for evening arrivals outside staffed hours.

If your flight lands after 11:00 PM, return your vehicle using the key slot and the transaction will be processed the following business day.

New York State allows vehicle rentals to drivers who are at least 18 years old.

Drivers aged 18–20 incur an additional daily surcharge of $84 per day.

Drivers aged 21–24 pay a reduced young-driver fee of $35 per day.

No additional age-related surcharge applies to a renter who is 25 or older.

Debit cards bearing a Visa or Mastercard logo are accepted for renters aged 25 and above, subject to a credit check.

A valid credit card hold will still be required at pickup — the credit authorization covers estimated rental charges plus a security buffer.

Prepaid debit cards and gift cards cannot be used as the primary payment method when collecting your vehicle at the counter.

In addition to payment, a renter must present a second form of current identification when using a debit card at an airport location.

All vehicles include E-ZPass-compatible electronic toll capability by default.

A daily convenience fee of $5.95–$6.95 applies when the electronic toll service is used, in addition to the actual toll amounts charged.

Renters may opt out of the toll service and pay by cash or use their personal E-ZPass transponder placed in the vehicle.

Westchester County has toll roads connecting to the Tappan Zee Bridge and Cross Westchester Expressway — the toll service saves time on all these routes.

Reserving 1–2 weeks ahead of your travel date consistently produces the most competitive pricing at HPN.

Economy vehicles at HPN start from $34 per day when booked in advance — walk-up counter rates can be 30–50% higher for the same class.

For a budget-minded renter, the single greatest cost-saving action is making an advance reservation rather than booking on arrival day.

Rates for 2024 and upcoming 2025 travel dates are available now — lock in current pricing before peak season demand rises.

Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is offered to every renter at time of pickup for an additional daily charge.

SLP provides up to $300,000 combined single-limit coverage for third-party liability claims during the rental period.

Collision Damage Waivers (CDW) and Loss Damage Waivers (LDW) are offered at the counter — your personal auto insurance may already cover this.

A renter should review their existing personal insurance policy or credit card benefits before purchasing additional coverage at the counter.

One-way rental options are available through several of the six on-airport brands at an additional one-way drop fee.

Drop-off locations within Westchester County — including White Plains, Yonkers, and New Rochelle — are commonly available at no extra charge.

Longer one-way returns to New York City, New Jersey, or Connecticut typically incur a cross-state or metro area surcharge.
